Meet the R family – Andrew, Heather and 2-year-old Lyla. Forgive me my overwhelming dorkyness, but this was one of those sessions where I just fell in love with the family and their images, and I really wanted to capture the love between Andrew and Heather. They are two very special people, both proudly serving this great country in our military, and Lyla is just the sweetest little love bug ever. To add to the effect, I totally was rocking some classical piano music (thank you Pandora for the Twilight station!), which really set the mood for editing. This was really my last official “fall” family session, because very soon afterward, Colorado Springs got hit with a little snow storm and all the beautiful oranges, yellows and red foliage has since fallen off the trees over at Bear Creek (where we shot these images)..png "blog1") .png "blog2")

Meet sweet little Sophie … how stinking adorable is she??? We got to spend a pretty chilly – but absolutely perfect – fall morning together at Garden of the Gods (see, another example that not all GoG pictures have to have rocks in them!) to celebrate that Sophie is 6 months old. She was such a sweet little thing, I got to hold her (it totally gave me the baby fever, I can’t lie – she is too lovable!) and we played in the leaves. I just love her little cow costume, too – I swooooooon over those little ruffles on the back!

It was kind of impromptu – we did it during her family photo session – but it was so fun, I just had to share!

Let me tell you about the Darrington family – they are WONDERFUL. No other words can be used to describe my good friend Amy, her husband Kiev, 12-year-old Alex, 4-year-old Liam and 2-year-old Madi. I got to go and spend nearly an entire week with them in Boise in October (which, by the way, went by WAY too fast). Amy spent a majority of the time giving me the “why you should move to Boise” tour – and I have to say, she did a darn good job. I absolutely fell in love with the town of Boise – the residents, its awesome football team (go BSU Broncos!), the local sights and scenes – you name it. Boise is gorgeous and if we were to ever leave Colorado, you’d better believe we’d be going to Boise! We could hardly decide where to do their family pictures – there are so many beautiful locations to shoot at there, it was amazing. But! We decided to shoot right there in downtown Boise, because Amy wanted a real urban feel for this year’s family pictures and I think we totally hit the nail on the head. I am already counting down until the next time I can go out to visit!!!

How seriously cute is three-year-old Trenton?? I got to spend a pretty chilly Saturday morning with the B family, while I was visiting Boise. We went to Kathryn Albertson Park there in Boise and it was absolutely GORGEOUS. I am yet to find a place in the Springs that has the same beauty of that park – so many colors and the foliage was amazing. Here are just a few from their session!
